So, people are trying to find a cheaper alternative for this product. Today, I will show you how to replace the Kenmore water filter.
What you need
* A Screwdriver (Phillips)
* The filter cartridge (The same kind that you used before)

* A dishwashing detergent container (You can buy one from Walmart or any other store)
* A piece of cloth or paper towel (You can buy one from Walmart or any other store)
* A plastic bottle (You can buy one from Walmart or any other store)
* Hot water (This is optional)
Steps
- Disconnect the old filter from the tap. You can do this by turning off the water supply valve. Take out the filter from the tap. Make sure that you have disconnected all of the parts before removing them.
Now, put the new filter in place and reconnect all of its parts again. Turn on the water supply valve and check if it is working properly. If it is not working, then turn off the water supply valve and reconnect it again.
If you still have a problem, then turn off your main water supply valve and disconnect it completely. Wait for some time and reconnect your main water supply valve again after some time has passed by.
- Take out the new filter from the packaging. Remove all of its parts and then wash it well with a dishwashing detergent container. Make sure that you use only a small amount of dishwashing detergent on the filter.
You can buy a cheap dishwashing detergent container from Walmart or any other store. If you don’t have one, then you can buy one from Amazon or any other store.
It is very important that you don’t use too much dishwashing detergent on the filter because it may damage your filter cartridge.
- Put some hot water in the plastic bottle and put it in your washing machine to wash the filter. After washing, remove it from your washing machine and put it back in its original place in your tap.
- Turn on your tap again and check if your water is filtered properly now by taking a cup of water from your tap and testing its quality using a water quality tester or a piece of paper towel that has been dipped in this cup of water for some time.
If it is not filtered properly, then reconnect your main water supply valve again and wait for some time before reconnecting again after turning off the main water supply valve completely and waiting for some time.
