Step 1: Unplugging the washing machine

The plug is where your machine is placed into the wall socket. A simple way to restart the machine is first to turn it off. As the very first step, you have to unplug the machine with care from its power outlet on the wall. Make sure your hands are dry before you handle any electric device. If your machine is placed in front of the outlet or socket, push it aside with care and then remove the plug.

Step 2: Holding it unplugged

When you have removed the plug from the outlet, hold it in position or place it on the ground for at least one minute.

Step 3: Placing the cord of the washer back into the socket

When your one minute is complete, carefully and gently place the plug back into the wall socket. Make sure that your hands are dry. Doing this lets your machine restart on its own.

Step 4: Opening and closing the washing machine door

Once you have plugged your machine back in its place, you must open and close the washing machine door about six times within a time frame of 12 seconds. What does this do? It sends signals to all the components of your device to reset. After doing this, run the spin/run cycle without adding in any clothes, to see if your machine is working again.

This method of reset, as we said, will work for most machines. This method described above is also often the one used by skilled technicians. Nevertheless, there is an easier way to reset for the newer models. These machines will come with a reset feature, allowing it to restart on it’s on in case of fault or an error code. This feature usually is in the form of a reset button that you can press to restart the motor of your device.

Furthermore, as for some old and other models of washing machines, there are no reset buttons that you can use to “press and fix” For machines without a button for reset, this method stated above can be used. One can easily remove the plug and place it back in after a break of 30 sec to 1 min. After doing that, open and close the door of the machine several times quickly. Because it is an effective method, it is used as a second option if your machine doesn’t work with the restart button. Learn more about resetting such machines on hifibeast.

FAQ’s about Washing Machines

Whether it is before you buy a washing machine, or when you are using it, there are some common questions come to the front, frequently asked questions about finding the right machine or repairing if it doesn’t work correctly. For your ease, there are a few of these questions that we have addressed.

Q1. How can I make my washing machine more effective for washing?

The cleaner the filters of your machine are, the better the results. So, for effective washing, it’s best to regularly wash the lint filters.

Q2. Is a top loading or front loading washing machine better for me?

There is no straightforward answer to this question, and rather it depends on several factors. Both types have their benefits and the answer depends on what benefit you need. While front-loading machines save water, top-loading machines are easier to use as one doesn’t have to bend. Nevertheless, the choice is yours to make, since both are good in their own ways.

Q3.  Where is the serial number of my washing machine located?

In most cases, you will find the serial number of your machine either under the lid in case of a top loader, on the front door in case of a front loader or maybe at the back of your machine. These are the places where the serial numbers are usually present.

Q4. Why isn’t my washing machine draining water?

The most likely reason for this to occur can be a blockage in the pipe of the machine. This may be a small item that got stuck or a limescale buildup. Once you remove the blockage, your problem will be solved.

Q5. Why isn’t my washing machine starting?

This may happen when the plug is not properly placed in the socket or when the door of the machine isn’t shut properly. In other cases, the switch you used may be faulty.
