A dishwasher is a useful appliance that is used for washing dishes and other kitchen items such as glassware, crockery, utensils, flatware and dishes. The main parts of a dishwasher are the drain pump, heating element, detergent dispenser and water spray.

The most common types of dishwashers are high-efficiency models that have an Energy Star rating or water-saving models that have an A+ rating. There are also stainless steel dishwashers that have different features such as multi-level racks and non-stainless steel dishwashers.

An Inglis dishwasher is one of the best dishwashers you can get on the market today. Still, regular cleaning is mandatory in order to make sure that the Inglis dishwasher filter is always in good condition.

How Often You Should Clean Your Dishwasher?

A good rule of thumb is to clean the dishwasher thoroughly once a month, with distilled white vinegar and baking soda mixed in. Or you can use a store-bought cleaner. Clean out the filters manually at least once a month, as well.

It takes only a few minutes to clean the filter and you use the supplies that you probably have stored in the cabinets of your home. Doing this regularly is also worth it because it will save you time and energy to wash dishes double the amount, since a worn down dishwasher will be less effective.

How To Clean Inglis Dishwasher Filter

Here’s how to clean Inglis dishwasher filter:

Remove the filter cover

To remove the filter cover, you need to remove the screws that are holding it in place on your dishwasher, if there are any.  After removing the screws, you will be able to remove the filter. Sometimes, it is fastened using a latch. Either way, take it out of the machine.

Ready your cleaner

Before you start cleaning the filter, make sure that you have the cleaner that is required for this job. You can either use a chemical-free detergent or a commercial dishwasher cleaner. Usually, you can use the same solution you use to clean dishes, because they’re abrasive enough to get rid of grease build-up.

Rinse and soak the filter

After you have put the cleaner into the solution, fill up your dishwasher with hot water. This will help loosen any dirt and grease that may be on the filter. Next, put the filter in the water and let it soak for about 10 minutes.

Scrub off debris

After 10 minutes have passed, take out your dishwasher filter and rinse it off with clean water. Then, pour some dishwasher detergent into a spray bottle and use it to thoroughly clean off any grease or debris that may be on the filter. After this is done, put your dishwasher filter back into the dishwasher and make sure that it is secure.

Dry the filter

After you have put your dishwasher filter back into the dishwasher, make sure that it is properly dry before you put it back into place. If there are any stains on your filter, you can use a little bit of vinegar to get rid of them. Also, if there are any streaks or smudges on your filter compartment, you can use a damp cloth to remove them.
