Your dishwasher is a key part of your kitchen, so you need to be able to use it every day. But sometimes you may find that the door won’t open. You may try to press the button or turn the knob, but nothing happens.

The reason for this is that your dishwasher will not work because the locking mechanism has become jammed.

In this article, we will show you how to unlock a Kenmore dishwasher and get it working again.

Step 1: Remove all items from inside the dishwasher

Before you start opening up your Kenmore dishwasher, make sure that there are no dishes in there that might get damaged during this process.

Once everything is out of the machine, remove any other items from under or on top of your machines, such as baskets or racks. Then take out any removable racks and lower baskets if they are in the way.

Finally, remove any towels or other items that are under the dishwasher.

Step 2: Remove the dishwasher door

The first thing you need to do is remove the dishwasher door. This can be done by either removing screws or unscrewing the handle on the front of your machine. To do this, turn your machine on and open the door.

Once it is open, place a flathead screwdriver against one of the holes in your machine and push down firmly on it until you hear a click.

Step 3: Remove fuses from the power box

If your dishwasher is not working because there is something wrong with your fuse box, then you will need to replace them all at once to fix this problem.

The easiest way to do this is by using a fuse puller tool that will allow you to safely remove all of your fuses without risking damage to them or having them go up in flames while they are in contact with each other.

Place all of your fuses into one of these devices and turn them on by pressing down on their button. This will then allow you to safely remove them from your fuse box.

Step 4: Remove screws

The next thing you need to do is remove the screws which hold your dishwasher door in place. You can do this by removing the screw that is at the top of your machine, which is also known as a hinge screw.

To do this, turn your machine on and open the door, then lift up on it until you hear a click. You will know that you have done this correctly when you see a gap appear between the door and its frame.

Conclusion

Once you have done all of the above, your dishwasher should be working again.

This method is quick and easy to follow, but you should always read the instructions that come with your machine before attempting to repair it yourself.
