What Is a Flashing Blue Light on My Xfinity Router?

If you see the blue LED flash on the Xfinity router, it is in pairing mode. It is trying to establish a secure connection with a wireless device. It signifies that your router is trying to pair with a protected device. Once the gateway is connected to the device, the router flashes a blue light that flashes and then switches to a white light that stays on for a while, letting you know when the connection is secure.

Start the Xfinity router from the start menu.

Our most basic and most successful method of restarting the Xfinity router is to turn it off. If that doesn’t work, restart the router and see if it can find a secure connection.

If we are experiencing problems with any of our electronics, our first instinct is to restart it. Fortunately, that is not what happens with Xfinity routers. You do that with your laptop or your TV. With routers, too!

It might be helpful to have your router checked by checking the cables and power plug to see if they are all plugged in correctly. Some routers just have problems when there are many unconnected cables. It happens a lot when a connector is not tight.

The Xfinity wireless network device will automatically detect when the power is off and start the process of restarting it. You will need to switch off the Xfinity wireless network and put the power cord into the power socket. Click and hold the WPA2 button while you turn off your Xfinity router and wait for the network to come back online. If it does not find a network that works, try turning it off and resetting it. If you are still having problems with it, try these steps to soft reset the router.

You will need to shut down your router and then unpair the power cable that connects the router to your computer. Firstly, unplug the power cord and try to relax for a while by unplugging the device.

Try putting the router power adapter in the correct socket in your computer. If it still doesn’t work, try this – Switch off the router and press the reset button.

Start the router in the WPA mode to see if it can establish a wireless connection.

If it works, you can force it to be rebooted from the factory. However, you will lose your settings if you force it to restart from the factory. You do not have to reset all the settings of the router – such as the username and password – as you did with other routers.

Soft Reset Xfinity Router

If your PC or smartphone is experiencing problems, you may have tried a hard reset to reset the device. Restart your device after removing all data that is stored in the device’s memory and cleaning its cache memory.

If you want to reset the router to factory settings, then follow the steps as if you had previously restarted it. You should also try to keep the power button on for a few seconds after you shutdown the router and then try to remove any settings you have changed. Before you turn off the router, it will cause the router to start using all of the power that is left in the circuit.

Resetting your router allows you to preserve your settings by turning off all the computer programs and services that you have previously configured. It is very easy to reset your router to bring it back to the default settings that it was in when it was purchased by you.

Spare yourself the time of buying a new Splitter

If there are two items in the house, you are probably connecting them together by a splitter. Splitters allow you to connect two or more devices to a common wall outlet.

Splitter problems are a common reason for flashed blue light issues in Xfinity routers. It weakens the signal or prevents it from working by simply removing the splitter. If that happens, your router will not recognize your device or attempt to pair it.

Basically, you want to remove the coax cable from the wall and connect it to the router. If there is no cable connection, just plug the phone cord into the router and try again. If there is a mode that is connected to the Xfinity router, disable the device and just connect straight to it.

Start the WPS Mode and try connecting to another wireless device

We’ve discussed what WPA means, but restart the router to try again. Who knows, it may help you solve your problem. There is a button that says “Enable WPS” on the top of most Xfinity routers. Pressing it will enable WPS wireless network pairing. Press the WPS button to start the WPS mode. There is a WPS button on the back of some Xfinity wireless routers.

It takes about five minutes for the WPS light to appear on the router to show that it is pairing with a compatible device. After that, it will automatically shut down. Afterwards, you should be able to reboot the computer or try a connection to a new device.
