When you are watching your favorite shows on Hulu, there are two types of ads that you will come across. One is the pre-roll ad which is shown before the show starts and the other is the mid-roll ad which is shown during the show. Pre-roll ads can be skipped after 5 seconds, but mid-roll ads cannot be skipped. Some users don’t like this because they want to watch their favorite shows without being interrupted by ads. In this article, we will talk about how to skip or block Hulu ads and how to get rid of them forever.
What is Hulu?
First of all, Hulu is a website that allows you to watch your favorite TV shows and movies online. It has over 1 million subscribers and over 70,000 TV episodes. It has all the popular shows like Breaking Bad, Grey’s Anatomy, etc. You can also watch the latest movies on Hulu. The website was founded in 2007 and is now owned by Hulu LLC. The company has a deal with Fox, ABC, NBC Universal, Disney-ABC Television Group, Turner Broadcasting System and Viacom. It is also available on several devices like Roku, Apple TV, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and more.
Since it is a paid service, Hulu blocks users from watching their favorite shows and movies if they don’t have an account. It has an ad-supported free version that lets you watch a limited number of videos and also comes with ads. If you want to watch your favorite shows without ads, you can get a paid subscription. It costs $7.99 per month and $11.99 per month for the ad-free version. If you don’t want to pay, then you will have to watch the ads.
Ads can be annoying and many users want to skip them. But you can’t skip the mid-roll ads on Hulu. If you want to get rid of them, then you will have to use a workaround.

The hosts file is a simple text file that is present in every operating system. This file contains a list of domain names and their corresponding IP addresses. If you add Hulu’s domain name to the hosts file, Hulu will be blocked and you will not see any ads. This method is very easy to use, but it is not very effective.
If you want to block Hulu ads using the hosts file, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the hosts file in any text editor. You can use Notepad on Windows or TextEdit on Mac.
Step 2: Add the following line to the hosts file:
127.0.0.1 ad.hulu.com
Step 3: Save the hosts file and exit the text editor.
Now you will not see any ads on Hulu. However, you can still watch the shows on Hulu. You can also use this method to block ads on other websites.
Method 3: Disabling Flash Player
Flash Player is a plugin that is used by Hulu to play videos. To disable Flash Player, follow these steps:
Step 1: Open the Control Panel on your computer. You can do this by right-clicking on the Start button and selecting Control Panel from the menu.
Step 2: Click on Programs and Features. It is a link in the Control Panel.
Step 3: In the left-hand side of the window, click on Uninstall a program. This option is located under Programs and Features.
Step 4: In the list of programs, find Flash Player. Right-click on it and select Uninstall from the menu.
After you uninstall Flash Player, Hulu will not be able to play videos and you will not see any ads. However, this method is not permanent and you will have to repeat it every time you open Hulu. You can use the previous methods if you want to get rid of ads permanently without having to disable Flash Player every time you open Hulu.
